Sabine Vatin studied music at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, where she won first prizes in chamber music, piano, accompaniment, harpsichord, basso continuo and vocal direction. Since 1987, she has been teaching music training and sight-singing.
Voice coach in 1986 at the Paris Opera and in 1987 at the Festival d'Aix en Provence, she held this position at the Théâtre du Châtelet between 1990 and 1992, which enabled her to work with John Eliot Gardiner, Armin Jordan, Marek Janowski, Michel Plasson, Georges Prêtre, Eliahu Inbal, Semyon Bychkov, James Conlon, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jeffrey Tate.
She gives numerous recitals (Aix en Provence, Radio France, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées…) and concerts (Ballade de Fauré under the direction of Pierre Dervaux, 3rd concerto by Beethoven…)
She accompanies singers such as Susan Graham, Thomas Hampson , Jessye Norman, Mariella Devia… In chamber music, she plays with Gary Hoffman, Michel Lethiec, Eric, Cyrille Lacrouts… She has produced ten CDs, among which we can cite Berio's Sinfonia on harpsichord under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Cosi Fan Tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro on pianoforte (continuo) under the direction of Gardiner and, on the piano, the Ensembles Mozart's vocals, French music with trombone, Beethoven's Trio op.38, Pieces for choir and piano by Fauré, Les lieder by Mendelssohn and Trios by Haydn, Fauré and Ravel.
Sabine Vatin has been Music Advisor at the Théâtre du Châtelet since 1992 and La Seine Musicale since 2017.
